Creekside Park at Lakemont is a new multi-acre recreational space that opened to the broader community in November of 2024. The space, which sits on roughly 20 acres in Richmond, Texas, boasts an impressive list of amenities for nearby residents. Think multi-purpose fields, water features, an outdoor fitness area, pavilion, event center, courts of all kinds (tennis, basketball, and pickleball to be exact) and a playground as expansive as a child’s imagination.
Designed With Play In Mind
The space was constructed by our team in conjunction with TBG Partners and HUO Architects, designed to be a central spot for the community that mixes function with the natural surroundings of the area. Native animal species and local flora and fauna were top-of-mind when designing the space. And this shows throughout the park – the aforementioned playground? Its highlights include an alligator-themed play structure made of Acoya wood and custom Egret sculptures, all fabricated by Renfrow+Co. The body of the ‘gator also doubles as a berm.

The grandeur of Creekside Park comes from its smart design and high-end materials. Western Red Cedar siding and Douglas Fir timbers give the clubhouse a warm, natural look, while the curtain wall glazing, typically used in high-rise buildings, gives it a modern finish. The flooring and ceiling materials, sourced from Italy and other parts of Europe, show the high level of craftsmanship in the building.
Landscaping was key in complementing the structures on site. Over 300 trees were planted, including mature trees that were hand-selected. Texas-native and Bermuda grasses were used to create a sustainable landscape that can thrive.
A New Era of Think Outside

Creekside Park was a flagship job for our team, a chance to show how we Think Outside on a larger scale. Beyond hardscaping and landscaping, this was our first time leading the build of a full-scale recreational facility. Our scope was broad and covered almost every part of development, from building the main structure and pavilion to putting in parking lots, utilities, and acres of hardscaping, a splash pad, playground, and custom landscaping.
The project wasn’t without challenges; structural parts, finishes, and the alligator play structure required ongoing teamwork between B&D, architects, and designers to ensure they could be made a reality while also maintaining design intent. Outside factors like Hurricane Beryl also affected the construction schedule.
Creekside Park’s completion is a big deal not just for the community but also for B&D Contractors. Finishing a project of this size shows our commitment to providing a quality outdoor solution to our clients. The park is now a beloved space for nearby families looking for recreation, nature, and exceptional amenities.
