Nestled in the heart of Houston’s Second Ward, The Plant in EaDo is a thriving business and food hub redefining what community spaces can be. Located within a historic East End neighborhood, this project effortlessly merges modern design with thoughtful, timeless touches, creating an inviting environment for locals to gather, dine, and unwind.

Our team contributed to this transformation with careful demolition and replacing it with new sidewalks. One standout feature is the turf patio—a unique outdoor space designed for both function and flair. The rusted Corten steel planters and fencing, meticulously crafted by Renfrow+Co, were sealed to preserve their rugged, weathered charm. These elements, along with a sweeping curved concrete wall that proudly displays “The Plant” signage, create an industrial yet organic aesthetic that anchors the design.

Despite a challenging four-to-five-month remodel, where weather-related setbacks—including windstorms, Hurricane Beryl, and persistent rainfall—threatened to delay progress, our team remained undeterred. With resilience and dedication, we overcame these obstacles and delivered a stunning final result.

Today, The Plant is a vibrant destination offering a unique blend of culinary experiences, from pizza to Italian-Mexican fusion, drawing locals and visitors alike. This space is a true reflection of the evolving spirit of Houston’s Second Ward—a place where creativity, community, and perseverance seamlessly come together.
