Gables Republic Square is a mixed-use concept located in downtown Austin, Texas. A compilation of private residences atop Hotel ZaZa, this joint-venture property is part of a growing trend of co-branded, shared spaces in urban cities around Texas. As construction costs continue to increase and usable space becomes harder to come by, developers are making the most of the space that’s available, going up rather than out and creating posh livable spaces city residents find desirable.
Located at 4th Street and Lavaca Street near the trendy Warehouse District, the first 14 floors of the building consist of Hotel ZaZa rooms and amenities, while floors 15-28 feature high-end residential apartments. The Gables Republic Square name is a nod to the building’s proximity to Republic Square Park.
Our team at B&D implemented a number of hardscaping and landscaping elements at Gables Republic Square, including Level One patios, ramps, concrete pavers and a Porte Cochere that welcomes guests to the property. Irrigation and drainage systems were installed, as well as a variety of plant life to add color and vibrancy to the surroundings.
We worked our way up through the Level Seven Hotel ZaZa pool deck, and also the Level 24 rooftop pool deck for use by Gables residents. In addition to installing all landscaping and hardscaping of each pool deck, we added a fire pit, outdoor kitchen/dining area, synthetic lawn, tiles and pavers on the rooftop deck, the more elaborate of the two.
Landscaping and hardscaping are integral parts of any high-rise building, enhancing the beauty of them and providing quiet getaways to residents and guests alike. We’re certain the amenities of Gables Republic Square will be enjoyed for years to come and this is another example of how we Think Outside.
